Terms of Use
Last updated: 21 September 2026
This translation is provided for convenience only. The German version is legally binding.
Note on the current offers: Since 21 September 2026, Orcana has offered a Premium subscription and credits. Advertising videos for bonus readings are not currently available; the provisions on them apply only once this offer is available in the app.
1. Scope and contracting party
These terms apply to the use of the Orcana app and website.
The provider and your contracting party is:
Orcana
Volkan Bayrak
Schellingstraße 65
22089 Hamburg
Germany
kontakt@orcana.app
By creating a user account, you accept these terms. Any different terms of the user do not apply unless we expressly agree to them in writing.
2. What Orcana is — and what it is not
Orcana is an entertainment app. It offers readings based on coffee grounds, tarot cards and astrological information.
All readings are for entertainment purposes only and have no scientific basis. They are not a substitute for professional advice — in particular medical, psychological, legal or financial advice.
The texts of the readings are generated by an AI language model. They are not statements by a real fortune teller. The figures in whose voice the readings are written are fictional characters.
We do not predict the future and do not promise any results. Any decisions you make on the basis of a reading are your own responsibility.
If you are in a health-related or emotional crisis, please contact a doctor, a counselling service or, in urgent cases, the emergency services.
3. User account and minimum age
You need a user account to use Orcana. You sign in with your Google account.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Orcana. By signing in, you confirm that you have reached this age.
You are responsible for protecting your account against unauthorised access. One account per person is permitted.
We may suspend or delete an account if you breach these terms, in particular in the case of abusive or fraudulent use. In the case of serious breaches, suspension without prior notice is possible.
4. Free use
Orcana can be used free of charge. With free access, a limited number of readings is available to you per calendar month; coffee-ground readings are additionally limited in frequency within that number. The current scope is shown to you in the app.
The daily card is available to you without limit and free of charge.
There is no entitlement to any particular scope of the free offer. We may change the free scope for the future. Paid services already purchased remain unaffected.
5. Premium subscription
For a fee, you can take out a Premium subscription. The scope of Premium is shown to you in the app before purchase.
Prices and terms: The prices and terms shown to you in the app or in the Google Play Store before purchase apply. All prices are final prices including the applicable VAT.
Automatic renewal: At the end of the chosen term, the subscription automatically renews for the same term unless you cancel in good time. The renewal is charged at the price applicable at that time; you will be informed of any price changes in advance.
Cancellation: You can cancel the subscription at any time via the subscription management of your Google Play account. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Until then, you can continue to use Premium. Cancelling through us is not necessary; we are also technically unable to do so.
Free trial: If a free trial is offered, it lasts seven days. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, it automatically converts into a paid subscription. We clearly point this out to you before the trial starts.
6. Credits
In addition to the subscription, you can buy credits. With credits, you can unlock additional readings beyond the free allowance. Depending on the type of reading, one reading may cost several credits; the app shows you how many before you start.
Credits are purchased once and are non-transferable, non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for money. Unused credits do not expire as long as your account exists. When your account is deleted, unused credits expire without compensation.
7. Advertising videos for bonus readings
We may offer you the option of voluntarily watching a short advertising video in exchange for an additional reading.
This offer is expressly voluntary. If you do not use it, you suffer no disadvantage beyond the normal scope of free access. There is no entitlement to the availability of such offers.
8. Payment via Google Play
Paid services are processed exclusively via Google Play Store billing.
For users in the European Economic Area, Google is the contracting party in the purchase process (merchant of record) and handles payment and billing. The Google Play Terms of Service therefore also apply to the payment process.
We provide the service itself — that is, the app and the readings.
Please send refund requests to Google via the refund function of the Google Play Store. Google's refund policies apply. Regardless of this, you can contact us at any time if a service did not work as described.
9. Right of withdrawal for digital content
As a consumer, you generally have a fourteen-day right of withdrawal.
For digital content and services, the right of withdrawal expires if you expressly agree that we begin performance before the withdrawal period ends and you confirm at the same time that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal. This consent is obtained during the purchase process.
Since, in the European Economic Area, the purchase is made with Google as the contracting party, exercising the right of withdrawal is governed by the Google Play terms.
10. Fair use
The Premium subscription includes a daily maximum number of readings. The app shows you how many before purchase and in your profile.
To prevent abuse and automated mass requests, use is limited in quantity. With free access, a monthly allowance of readings is available to you; within this allowance, a separate upper limit may apply to coffee readings. The app shows you the applicable numbers before you start a reading and as soon as an allowance is used up.
In the event of significant excess use or signs of automated use, we may temporarily restrict use. Where possible, we will contact you beforehand.
11. Your obligations
You agree not to misuse Orcana. The following in particular are prohibited:
- the use of automation, scripts or bots
- attempts to circumvent technical restrictions or access barriers
- creating multiple accounts in order to use free allowances more than once
- uploading unlawful content or images that infringe the rights of third parties
- actions that disrupt or endanger the operation of the app
You confirm that you hold the necessary rights to the images you upload.
12. Availability and changes to the offer
We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance work, technical faults or outages at service providers we use may lead to temporary restrictions.
We may further develop the app and change or discontinue features. We will announce material changes affecting your paid services in advance. If a paid service is significantly restricted, you may terminate the subscription for cause.
13. Content and rights of use
All components of the app — in particular design, texts, graphics, characters and software — are protected by copyright.
You receive a simple, non-transferable right to use the app for your own private purposes. Commercial reuse of the reading texts, such as selling them or publishing them as your own offer, is not permitted without our consent. You are of course free to share individual readings in your private circle or on social networks.
The images you upload remain yours. We use them solely to create the requested reading and do not store them.
14. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the German Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz).
In the case of simple negligence, we are liable only for breach of an essential contractual obligation — that is, an obligation whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose observance you may regularly rely. In this case, liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for the contract.
Otherwise, liability is excluded.
We are not liable for decisions you make on the basis of a reading. The readings are for entertainment and do not constitute advice (see section 2).
15. Term and termination
The user agreement runs for an indefinite period.
You can delete your account at any time without giving reasons — in the app under Profile → Delete. This ends the user agreement. You must additionally cancel an active subscription via your Google Play account; deleting your Orcana account does not end it automatically.
We can terminate the user agreement with 30 days' notice. The right to terminate for good cause remains unaffected.
16. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms if this is necessary due to changes in the law, changes in case law or further development of the app, and the change does not unreasonably disadvantage you.
We will inform you of changes at least 30 days before they take effect, in the app or by email. If you do not object within this period, the changed terms are deemed accepted. We will specifically point out this effect in the notice. If you object, you can end the contract at any time.
17. Dispute resolution
We are neither willing nor obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
18. Final provisions
The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies. Mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country in which you have your habitual residence remain unaffected.
Should any provision of these terms be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected.
